The fossils on display were collected by the late Madam Nina Wang over a period of several years. Nearly all the specimens were once towering trees that have been changed through time and circumstances into stone. Nina recognized the individual beauty of the pieces and knew that they would remind us that they were a living part of our ancient world which has gone forever. She knew they would help to educate us about changes in our precious environment and that by learning about them it would help us to respect and preserve our present environment for our families and future generations.
Nina Fossil Garden is the reminder and the educator about fossils. You will find examples of whole fallen trees giving an indication of their great height. There are individual specimens and groups which show the petrification process, a variety of colors , tree rings and other features which all tell the story.
There are more fossil specimens on display at members of Chinachem Group including L’hotel Nina et Convention Centre, L’hotel Causeway Bay Harbour View, L’hotel Island South, and The Lily.
